Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Plotory ("Plotory", "we", "us", or "our"), operated from Portugal, collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use the Plotory mobile application, website, and related services (together, the "Service"). Plotory is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

Our Core Privacy Commitments

We do not sell your personal data. We collect data only for the purposes described below, provide controls for optional permissions, and explain when service providers process data on our behalf.

1. Information We Collect

Account and profile information

Content and social activity

We process the content and activity needed to provide Plotory, including plots, groups, invitations, memberships, RSVPs, announcements, comments, coordination-chat messages, reactions, reports, blocks, uploaded photos and media, and the visibility settings you choose. Content marked public may be visible to anyone, including people who do not have a Plotory account.

Location information

How location is used

If you grant device permission, Plotory may access precise or approximate location while you use location features. Coordinates may be sent to Plotory and mapping providers to show nearby plots, position the map, provide recommendations, and support location-based features. We also process locations you manually choose for plots or groups.

Location permission is optional. You can use Plotory without it, although nearby discovery and some map features will be limited. You can change permission in your device settings.

Photos, camera, and media

With your permission, Plotory can access photos, videos, or the camera when you choose to upload a profile image, cover, announcement, or memory. Media you upload is stored and shared according to the audience and visibility settings of the relevant profile, plot, or group.

Purchases and subscriptions

When you buy a subscription or other in-app product, we process product, transaction, purchase-token, entitlement, subscription-status, and expiry information. Apple or Google processes your payment method; Plotory does not receive your full card or bank details.

Device, diagnostics, and advertising information

We and our SDK providers may process device type, operating system and app version, IP address, language, push-notification token, app interactions, crash or error information, advertising identifiers, consent choices, and ad impressions or interactions. Advertising data is used to deliver, measure, limit, secure, and, where allowed and consented to, personalize ads.

Information we no longer request

The current Plotory registration flow does not require a phone number and the app does not request access to your address-book contacts.

2. How We Use Information

3. Legal Bases for EEA and UK Users

4. When Information Is Shared

We disclose information only as described here:

Key service providers

Providers may process data in countries outside the EEA. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions or approved contractual protections.

5. Advertising and Your Choices

Plotory may show ads supplied by Google AdMob and mediation partners. These providers may use advertising identifiers, IP address, device information, consent signals, and ad interactions to deliver, secure, cap, and measure ads. Personalized advertising is used only where permitted and, where required, after consent. You can review available ad-privacy choices in the app or your device settings. Purchasing an eligible ad-free subscription removes ads from the applicable in-app experience.

6. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above. Retention depends on the type of data, account status, safety needs, and legal obligations.

Deleting Plotory does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel it through the store that billed you. See our Account Deletion page for instructions.

7. Security

We use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data, including encrypted transport, password hashing, access controls, authentication protections, rate limiting, and infrastructure monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, withdraw consent, or receive a portable copy of your personal data, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Some rights have legal exceptions. You can update information and delete your account in the app, or contact us for assistance.

9. Age Requirements

Plotory is for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. Date of birth is used to enforce this minimum age. If we learn that an under-13 user created an account, we will disable the account and delete or anonymize the associated personal data as appropriate. Users who have not reached the age of majority should use Plotory only with a parent or guardian's permission where required by applicable law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Plotory or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice in the app or by email when a change is material.

11. Contact Us

Plotory is operated from Lisbon, Portugal.
